March 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Don’t read too much into the headline. The bribe here isn’t a monetary incentive. Yashodhan Pandit (aka Sarju of Tere Mere Sapne fame) is being coaxed by the crew members to shoot for excess hours and in return get a day off the next day.
Pandit says, “We shoot for excessive hours which don’t leave us enough time to spend with family and dear ones. Recently, we shot from 7.00 am till 3.00 am. It gets really exhausting.”
Realising his agony, the production team have found a noble way to keep Pandit happy and fresh.
“As a solution, our production people bribe me by saying that you shoot for the whole day and we will give you a leave on the next day (laughs). Even though I know it is my loss, I agree to it and shoot for a long time, thereby earning my holiday. Today we have a 9 am to 2 am shoot but I’m not getting my off tomorrow as we have back-to-back shoots,” he sighed.
So what does our man do with the bribe?
The actor giggles, “Well, I sleep, sleep and only sleep or I’ll watch 3-4 movies at a stretch.”
For a TV actor that’s the best use he/she can make of such a bribe.
