Feb 2, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): As reported earlier Asit Modi, the producer who had made viewers laugh with his popular serial ‘Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ (SAB TV) was about to launch a show tentatively titled ‘Meri Maa’, but now the news is that the serial may get struck due to some problems.

If sources are to be believed, “Neela Teleflims had a clash with the channel due to some budgetary issues, and then everything was eventually sorted amicably. But now there is a new problem, of that of the IPL (Indian Premiere League) matches that are scheduled from early march and therefore things are on hold as of now.”

“The casting for the show has been stopped in between. After the initial smooth sail the production has halted abruptly yet again. Now even though the producer has informed the crew to go ahead with the shoot, it is for sure that the show will launch post IPL,” adds the source.

Adding on further we are informed, “Not only ‘Meri Maa’ but mostly all the ventures which were scheduled to take place during that period will launch before or after IPL and not in between, as IPL is a potential threat to any upcoming show.”

Well surely IPL is a potential threat to saas-bahu melodrama as even daily soaps can’t beat the mania for cricket!
