April 9, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Pop artiste Cheryl Cole, who has been in the news for speculation over divorce after her husband, footballer Ashley Cole’s infidelity, wants to learn Indian classical music!
After retaining her title as the World’s Best Dressed Woman, as per a poll conducted by a British magazine, Cheryl is very happy making music. According to her official website, ‘Cheryl’s Parachute has landed’. Cheryl is glad with the way her album has been received. Her solo album was at #1 position on the UK charts for six weeks and hit 2XPlatinum in the UK.
Cheryl is known for her very romantic lyrics. She asserts that though 3 Words is her favourite single from the album, Parachute is a different sounding song which she finds very unique.
Speaking about Indian music, Cheryl was asked if she had heard of Pandit Ravi Shankar, Lata Mangeshkar or Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. She stated that Indian music has a lot of genres like folk, popular, pop, classical music and R and B. She would love to learn Indian classical music. Way to go, Cheryl!
