March 23, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): 18th Cross which happens to be the name of a prominent locality in Malleswaram, Bangalore, is also the name of a film. The film has been in the cans for four years now and is finally going to release. The director of the film, Shanker, holds his bad luck responsible for the delay in release. According to him, the film has been shot in 45 days and about 80 lakhs have been spent on its making. He has used a real life incident that happened at 18th Cross Malleswaram for the film.

He feels that the film’s producer, Chikkanna’s untimely death is also responsible for the delay. The film could be put to release only after his relatives came forward to help. But then again, the film’s unit was faced by a financial crisis during the post production stage.

The film has two cameramen – BL Babu and PL Ravi and it stars Deepak and Radhika Pandit. This was supposed to be Deepak’s second film, after he debuted with Shisya. However, four of his other films released in all this time. This was also supposed to be Radhika Pandit’s launch vehicle. But her other films, Moggina Manasu, Love Guru, Olave Jeevana lekkachara, all released before 18th Cross.
