February 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Whoopi Goldberg is off marriage completely. The actress was married three times in the past– first to drug counselor Alvin Martin, which ended in 1979, then to cinematographer David Claessen which ended in 1988 and lastly to actor Lyle Trachtenberg for one year, resulting in a divorce in 1995.
After all her marriages have failed, Whoopi is certain that if she marries for a fourth time that too won’t last. So, she wants her friends to stop her if she ever decides to marry again. She believes that while marriage is beautiful for a lot of people, she’s not someone who’s meant to be married.
