Both actors will be working with Ashutosh Gowariker for the first time.
Abhishek was reportedly not Ashutosh’s first choice. The director thought of those he had worked with before, like Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan, and even Harman Baweja. Later, he thought of Hrithik Roshan till finally settling on Abhishek Bachchan only. Even Deepika came in later, replacing Asin.
The film is inspired from a novel, says Ashutosh. ‘Khele Hum Jee Jaan Se is inspired from the book Do and Die by Manini Chatterjee. It will be a period-thriller flick with Abhishek,” he quips.
