nnual People's Choice Awards aired on CBS on Wednesday night. The show was hosted by Queen Latifah. Bullock bagged an award for the Favourite Movie Actress for The Blind Side. The actress beat out stiff competition from Jennifer Aniston and Kristen Stewart. But that's not all. Bullock's film The Proposal, costarring Ryan Reynolds, was named the Favourite Comedy, reports People. 'I am only up here because I am fortunate to work with people who make me look good,' a tearful Bullock said while accepting her award. '[Thanks] most of all to my family ... Life is hard sometimes, but we get through with laughter.' 'Thank you to everyone who voted,' she said, 'because you're voting for all the people who make me look good -- and you're making me look very good.'

Hugh Jackman bagged an award for Favourite Action Star and Johnny Depp bagged one for Favourite Movie Actor of the Decade.

Ashton Kutcher won the Favourite Web Celeb. He immediately tweeted: 'The peoples choice award really goes to you all! Thanks for the props! Thnk for making it happen!'

The two Taylors Swift and Lautner also won awards. Lautner won the Male Breakout Actor award for his role in New Moon while Swift was voted Favourite Female Singer.   New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight saga won the major awards of the night including the Waterford crystal trophies for Favourite Movie, Franchise and On-Screen Team.

In music, Carrie Underwood was named Favourite Country Artist while Lady Gaga grabbed the Favourite Breakout Music Artist award.   Mariah Carey won as well. She was named the Favourite R&B Star.

Television scored as well. Shows like The Big Bang Theory, Glee and House took home awards.

Though Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls didn't win anything, she certainly got our vote for being the best dressed celebrity.
