Oscar winner musician A. R. Rahman, who provided the soundtrack, reportedly addressed the gathering on the occasion while artists featured on the soundtrack performed live, including Naresh Iyer.
Musician Blaaze and actors Simbu and Trisha Krishnan were also present.
Acclaimed Indo-American statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA), applauded Rahman for creating a bridge between the music of east and west and for strengthening the worldwide market and stature of Indian music.
Zed, who is the chairperson of Indo-American Leadership Confederation, urged Rahman to help nourish the next generation with the richness of Indian music, elements of whose theory were first found in ancient Hindu scripture Sama-Veda.
