‘Ishqiya’ has run into trouble with the Censor Board, yet again. The promos of the film have been given ‘A’ certificate because of the language in the dialogues.

The promos had a line, “Naadi tale - aur Peepal tale -.” The dialogue got the promos ‘A’ certificate, ensuring that it won’t air on TV. The creative team of the film have gotten together to make changes to the dialogue to make sure it gets a ‘U/A’ certificate. The words have now been changed to “Naadi tale khayenge aur Peepal tale piyenge.”

According to Mansi Maroo, the producer of the film, the promos are being given ‘A’ certificates because of their language. However, the required changes have been made by the director Abhishek Chaubey and by Naseeruddin Shah who stars in the film. The promos should now be ok.

The Regional Officer Censor Board, Vinayak Azad, has confirmed that he gave ‘A’ certificate and suggested some cuts as well. They have now gone to the revising committee, which will decide what to do with the promos.
