Sonam Kapoor is dating her director Punit Malhotra

Manish Malhotra's nephew- Punit Malhotra is Sonam Kapoor's latest squeeze. Though the dainty lass is paired opposite Imran Khan in Dharma Productions' 'I Hate Luv Storys' but she developed a liking her director on the sets of the film.

The two became serious during the New Zealand schedule. They used to go out for dinner together and enjoyed each other's company.

According to a source, "Punit was constantly taking Sonam's photos and telling her how gorgeous she looked. Whenever they weren't shooting, the two would go out and try new places for dinner. In fact, Sonam even told her sister Rhea about Punit."

However their public display of affection didn't go down well with Mama Manish Malhotra and producer Karan Johar who told Punit to "concentrate only on his work".

The crew of the film is also aware of the closeness between Sonam and Punit. A source adds, "The relationship is rather new, and at this early stage, tiffs are normal. In fact, Imran keeps teasing her about it all the time."

Punit has earlier worked assistant director in Paheli (2005), starring Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji; and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), starring Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. Not surprisingly, Manish Malhotra will design the costumes for the film.

Talking about the film, which the two are likely to star in together, a source reveals, One of Shahids close friend is trying to work on the project. Deepika and Shahid are vaguely aware of the project and are definitely keen on working together since both of them are in-demand.

Deepika Padukone has just snipped her flowing tresses short. The new hairstyle has given a fresh bounce to the bubbly actor’s look. “I love how I can just wash and dry my hair and I’m ready to go. Earlier, it would take ages to set,” she smiles.

It’s not just the hair. Padukone’s experimentations with her appearance go beyond that. She loves the fact that all her films this year will give her the chance to show off many different looks, starting with Karthik Calling Karthik. “It wasn’t a conscious decision to take up different kinds of films. If John Abraham had been with Bipasha in Delhi last week the ugly incident at a 5-star hotel would not have happened. Unfortunately John couldn’t accompany Bipasha to Delhi at the last minute.

Says Bipasha, “I missed him when I was under attack in Delhi. He has been a pillar of strength throughout the making and marketing of my fitness video.John is always there for everything I do.

Being a Capricorn I like to do everything on my own. Emotionally I need tremendous support from all my loved ones including my parents and John. But when it comes to my work I’m fiercely independent. I’ll only take advice from someone who shares my passion, like John does.”

John would be up in the middle of the night helping Bipasha with the video.

Fondly the lady in love says, “I’d be up at 3 am scripting my video and I’d poke him awake to get his feedback. He would give his inputs no matter how tired or sleepy. He has been a great help.He’s always there for me. He has been a wonderful support.”

Says Bipasha, “This was my baby project. No one had shot a fitness video before. It provides a 25-minute fitness regime with all the shot posturing being made very clear on camera so that the audience would be led into the exercizes shot by shot.

I’ve never done anything like this. I did it all by myself, with the help of a team. I wanted maximum eyeballs for this.

A lot of hard work has gone into it. Eight months of toil. Even at the gym I kept working on the video.Creating content was easier. But putting it together and taking it out for people was new to me. “

Bipasha’s emotional and physical contours have changed.

“I’ve worked out for the last six years. I’ve done all kinds of exercizes. But in the last eight months while trying to put forward a regime for my fitness video I ended up following the same regime. With each passing year I think my physical fitness is getting better.”

And now John Abraham thinks Bipasha has the best body in show business.

Bipasha laughs, “He could be biased because he’s my boyfriend.We’ve been told we’re the sweetest and fittest couple in our gym.That means a lot to us. It’s not just the body that makes an individual attractive. You’ve to have a face and a personality to match.We’re in a visual medium. And I’ve to admit most of my colleagues look good, both men and women.”

Initially Bipasha wanted to do the fitness video only for her friends. “There were so many unhealthy people around me. Every time I’d try to push them into the gym they’d say they’ve no time. My music video is for busy, lazy, shy and non-privileged people who can’t afford the gym fees.

I wanted it to be concise execizes that could be done in just 25 minutes and I didn’t want them to look intimidating, like ‘Oh my God only Bipasha Basu can do them.’ The idea was to make it fun and easy.

The best thing is, a lot of my friends and journalists started following my fitness video from a day after it was released. I wanted to to be comprehensive and that included precautionary measures to make sure no injury happened.”

The song ‘Love yourself’ was sung by Monali while Bipasha did some parts of the song.

Sighs Bipasha happily, “The concept ‘Love Yourself’ has clicked. People have always asked me why I look so content. That’s because I like myself.

Everyone has an added passion besides their main vocation. John has bikes. Likewise I’m passionate about health and the mechanics of the human body. Whether it’s yoga, swimming or running. Anything that helps me remain physically fit is good for me.”

Bipasha hopes to inspire a lot of people. “Fitness and health are becoming really big in India. Everbody wants to be fit. I’m glad I came out with my health video at this time.”

Bipasha plans to release fitness video every six months. “I already have the idea for the next fitness video.I’ll so something completely different in my next. The first one was tiring because I was groping in the dark. The second and third will be far smoother.

Sometimes working on the first fitness video was like banging the head against my wall.Sometimes I had to remind people on my team this was a fitness not a music video. I was like Goddess Durga protecting my project. This is one baby that had nothing to do with John.”

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan prays for peace and says his integrity is "non-negotiable."

Keeping his fingers crossed, the 44-year-old star also says his stardom is transient and wants a "closure" in the tense row with the Shiv Sena which has threatened to disrupt the film's screening if he does not apologise for his remarks favouring inclusion of Pakistani cricket players in IPL.

"My stardom is transient. my integrity in non negotiable ...my being indian unquestionable...hope peace prevails. Hope misunderstandings get cleared. hope nobody is hurt. hope all leaders & activists have largesse of heart. hope...," Khan, who is currently in Berlin for the premiere of his film, tweeted.

"nobody wants the mumbaikers or their property hurt & destroyed. least of all me." 1,600 Shiv Sena activists have been arrested so far to ensure a peaceful release of the film.

Shah Rukh also said he is making his point clear for the last time and sought closure, praying for peace in the city, which he owes everything to.

"this also is the last time i clarify or say anything on this topic. this is not a justification, its just reiterating the facts," he said.

"i may not have the same ideologies as the sena but on the question of me being a patriot, i dont think there should be any confusion. feel awful that balasahib & udhav have misconstrued my words. the reactions of the sena workers seems to make me believe that (sic)," he said.

The actor also hit out at detractors for alleging that the whole controversy was created to gain publicity for the film ahead of its release.

"i want to enjoy my film everywhere. i want to enjoy it within myself. and to sickos who think this is for publicity..2 words SHUT UP !!," wrote an angry Shah Rukh. The actor said that he decided to speak out because he wanted to clear the misunderstanding.

"i have the courage of conviction by my side. i explain becos better to do that, than create aggression & division in my country. i have no ego or false sense of pride. my words have been benign & without ill will to any person (s) or my nation (sic)," the actor said.

"dont want mayhem anger and violence cos of our beautiful film...which talks about repairing a bruised & divided world. writing not to justify but to spell out clearly who i am & my beliefs. seems otherwise i am misunderstood. should i write in block letters?," he added.

Khan said he owed everything to Mumbai and wanted a peaceful release of the film.

"nationality: indian. born in : delhi. owe everything to: mumbai. loves: my country india, my family & freedom. desire: entertain all...ironic & sad. a film made for world peace has led to so much angst in my own house.my city.my country. Let not anyone be hurt is all i pray (sic)," he said.

The film has been dogged by controversy since the beginning, be it Khan's US airport detention or the Shiv Sena threat.

At 4 a.m. in New York Saturday, the last thing Priyanka Chopra was expecting to hear was that she had won her first National Film Award. She jumped out of bed in sheer joy when she got the news. "It feels soooooo fantastic! It's 5 in the morning here (New York) and my phone has been ringing non-stop since about an hour. I am so excited, " Priyanka told over the phone from New York, where she has been shooting for Siddharth Anand's "Anjaana Anjaani". The 27-year-old has won her first ever National Film Award for her performance in Madhur Bhandarkar's "Fashion". She says she is glad that she agreed to do the film. "When Madhur approached me for this film, I was terrified about how complex the character was. But I am glad that I did it, " she said. Though Priyanka has already won several awards including a Filmfare best actress award for her portrayal of a struggling model in the film, she says the National Award is most special. "This is a National Award! I was just not expecting this and especially because there are several regional films and actors competing for it. One can't keep track of the nominations at all. But this feels just great. After having won 15 awards for 'Fashion' so far, I feel I have come full circle with this one, " she said. Instead of celebrating her success, the actress says she was looking forward to the morning shoot scheduled for "Anjaana Anjaani", in which she is featuring opposite Ranbir Kapoor. "I have a shoot tomorrow morning. So I just want to sleep right now so that I wake up fresh. I will be in a mood for celebration, but the shooting will definitely happen. It is my bread and butter - and also what will hopefully - yes hopefully, fetch me my next National award, " she joked. Priyanka, who made her Bollywood debut in 2003, says she received the most special congratulatory call from her parents. Her father Ashok Chopra had shed tears after watching "Fashion" in 2008 because he was touched with his daughter's performance, and he cried now again after hearing about her victory. "My father called me up and said he is ecstatic and extremely proud of me. He had tears again. He is happy because I have achieved so much in such a short span of my career, and that makes him really proud, " she added. Priyanka, who won the Miss World title in 2000, made her Bollywood debut with "The Hero: Love Story of a Spy" and then featured in "Andaaz", for which she even won a Filmfare best female debut award. In 2004, she delivered a critically acclaimed performance in "Aitraaz" and later did commercial films like "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi", "Bluffmaster", "Krrish", "Don - The Chase Begins Again", "Salaam-E-Ishq", et al.
